Our Story

Red Star Ministry was founded in 2018 as a Facebook page to promote a new vision of revolutionary and Marxist Christianity. The message connected, and the original Red Star Facebook page grew to have thousands of followers. 

 

Over time, the admins had conversations with each other and with other Christian socialists and communists, and realized that there is a deep spiritual and social yearning all across the world to see Red Star's vision put into practice. We began to commit to real-world organizing among homeless and oppressed communities in our neighborhoods, and are continuing to expand our operations to make Red Star a vibrant part of a truly revolutionary movement.

Our Beliefs

Red Star Ministry is a non-denominational Christian communist ministry that seeks to apply the teachings of Jesus, the Saints, and the Prophets to the struggle of all oppressed peoples for liberation. We directly minister to the oppressed people of the so-called United States and promote a theology of liberation in order to overthrow systems of oppression.

We also seek to directly challenge Christian conservatism and supremacy, recognizing that these notions have twisted the word of God into a tool of oppression.

Red Star Ministry synthesizes the revolutionary Gospel with the concepts of dialectical and historical materialism. God calls upon us to do works in line with our faith, and we believe that Marxism is an indispensable tool for doing so.

RSM is opposed to all forms of bigotry. We do not tolerate racism, sexism, transphobia, homophobia, or any other oppressive and toxic viewpoints. God made us precisely as They did, and you are loved not in spite of this, but because of it. We are all made in God's image, and so we all represent different aspects and truths of the Divine. You are safe and valid here.
